Content Management Systems
A content management system (CMS) enables you to update your website without any knowledge of coding. You can use a CMS to change text on your website, upload photos, add news articles, write blog posts, change menus and update prices.
Content management systems are suitable if you want to update your website frequently and are comfortable using computer software.
The content management system we use depends on the structure and complexity of your site and the type of information you want to edit. For small text changes to static pages we can link your site to a very simple system that allows you to make changes online quickly and easily.
Simple content management system
If you would like a fully functional blog that allows you to add news articles, upload photos & video and manage comments, we can build your site in a tried and tested system such as WordPress.
Some web design companies have their own content management systems. These tie you into to that company and make it impossible for a different company to take over your site. We don't do this. We use popular, worldwide-standard, open-source systems that any web design company will be familiar with. We want you to stay with us because you're happy with our service; not because you're tied into our technology.
If you want to upload images and maintain a gallery or portfolio, we can integrate your site with a image sharing site such as Flickr. For more information see Galleries & Portfolios
During the initial consultation, most people say they want the ability to update their website. However, it's not for everyone. Before you dive in with a CMS, we'd recommend reading 'Do you need a content management system?'. And don't forget, should you have any questions we're always here to give friendly, no obligation advice.
